There seems to be an uproar when I brought the matter up in my previous post : First COD in UTM - SHILLS Galore.

You know, I did not mean to bring down anyone's business but I feel like it is my right to know whether the product is a fake or not. The seller already PM-ed me about the matter and told me that she's not a user of SHILLS BB cream , which was why she didn't know how to spot the fake one. Also, she got all her stocks from her friend who is famous supplier and seller in many beauty forums, so she didn' t hesitate to buy in bulk from her. The danger of buying in bulk is you are bound to risk having yourself getting cheated as the supplier might include the fakes underneath the real products.

I sympathized her for her misfortune and she got herself really upset because of this matter. She will discontinue selling the BB cream if the BB cream is a fake( which I think it is).

I already met her just now and told her my view about this matter. There are many versions of the fakes and real ones, so for the time being, I will not repurchase this BB cream.


So, how to spot the fake ?



plue mentioned that it might be a bad batch of the BB cream but I suspect that it is indeed a counterfeit of SHILLS as everything seems so different from the previous one I bought.

As you can see, there is missing tag above the box, which is very distinctive to this edition.




Other ways to spot the fake would be these : ( Note : These are what I made myself, so don't even bother to copy okay?)


The real one has bolder font and the words are whiter in colour.







Let's take a closer look.



Look at the pink flower sticker. It's not precisely printed on the hologram seal.Also, the pink flower should be more orangey instead of very pastel-coloured pink.

The font is finer too.

For the real one, the pattern is more clean-cut and neat as compared to the fake one. For the fake one, the pattern is feathery and blurry.

Coverage wise :
The fake one has full coverage while real one has medium coverage. The fake one seems to resemble a liquid foundation instead of a BB cream. BB cream should have sticky feeling initially and later on blends nicely with your skintone.

I did not have to apply the BB cream on my skin to know if the shade is different as the shade is different even when I just took a glance at the tube.


It is obvious that the fake and real one has very different shade. The fake one is distinctively lighter in shade.The real one will blend into your skintone naturally.

The fake one has very much lighter shade and it is very oily too.


The real one is more yellowish in colour and it is more to skin colour.

Of course there are many ways to identify the fakes and the real ones as there are many versions of them in the market. I saw a lot of fakes in Johor and I am not surprised if the sellers got the products from the same supplier.

Right now, I am furious at those China idiots for imitating almost everything that is popular. If you got some brains left, I just hope you will come out with something new instead of merely copying other people's hardwork. I hope SHILLS will come out with better solution to combat counterfeit problem so that consumers will not keep getting cheated.
